We’ve teamed up with Moms Feed the Bronx to support our local fridges and provide delicious, nourishing meals to our neighbors.

Moss Café Postpartum Meal Sponsorship

The word “Moss” in the Victorian language of flowers signifies “maternal love” which is why we are so thrilled to introduce our new partnership to the Moss Cafe community!

We’ve joined forces with Ashe Birthing Services and The Birthing Place to offer seasonally curated vegan, vegetarian, and pescatarian meals for new postpartum families in need in the Bronx.

 
 

Ongoing Moss Community Initiatives

  • We actively work with a number of community organizations to source hyper-locally grown garden produce. Moss is currently purchasing produce from Riverdale Neighborhood House’s Farm and Food Hub and the Kingsbridge Heights Community Garden. In the past, Moss has purchased produce from La Familia Verde and The Earth Ministry in the Bronx.

  • We run a monthly donation spotlight to fundraise for Bronx and NYC community organizations and nonprofits concerned with food, environmental, economic, and social justice. Past organizations include Rethink Food, La Familia Verde, Riverdale Neighborhood House, Project EATS, James Baldwin Outdoor Learning Center, and POTS Bronx.

  • We’re actively collecting items for the Kingsbridge Heights Community Center food pantry every Monday–Thursday from 8 AM – 3 PM to support our neighbors in need. Bins will be at the Moss pick-up window and customers are requested to drop off their own items so as to minimize contact. We are looking for pasta, cereals, canned foods, diapers, wipes, & other necessities. Email mosscafeny@gmail.com or development@khcc-nyc.org with any questions!
